A walk through the fortified medina of Essaouira, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will lead through narrow streets lined with craft workshops and along the walls of the Skala de la Kasbah to the busy harbour. In a Berber village in Argan Country, you will enjoy a home-cooked lunch with a family from an argan oil cooperative and walk through an argan forest. A cooking workshop with the El Khir association will connect you with Moroccan women while preparing traditional dishes. You will spend a night in a luxury tented camp among the stone dunes of Agafay beneath the Atlas Mountains, and, travelling through the mountain village of Imlil, reach Marrakech and its Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace and Jemaa el-Fnaa square. ITINERARY


Day 1 – Journey to Morocco

PRAGUE – MARRAKECH – ESSAOUIRA

A late afternoon arrival at Marrakesh Menara Airport will be an ideal start to the journey, with a private transfer to Essaouira. Your driver will meet you directly at the arrivals hall, will monitor any flight delays, and will take you straight to your accommodation.

The journey will take approximately 3 hours and will pass through picturesque Moroccan countryside before you reach the Atlantic coast in the evening.

Day 1 – Journey to Morocco

After breakfast, you will take a half-day guided walk through the medina of Essaouira, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will walk along the fortified walls and narrow streets lined with craft workshops, and visit places such as the Skala de la Kasbah. The tour will also take you to the busy harbour and local markets, which reveal the town's rich history, culture and maritime character.

Lunch and the afternoon will be free for your own activities in this seaside resort.

Day 2 – The Medina of Essaouira

A full-day excursion will take you to the countryside around Essaouira, home to the argan tree, a species that grows only in south-western Morocco. After a pleasant half-hour walk, you will reach a small Berber village, where you will be welcomed by a local family, members of a cooperative producing argan oil. You will learn about the traditional production process of this rare oil and see a live demonstration of its different processing stages. The oil is valued for both cosmetic and culinary use and is made using techniques passed down through generations.

While half of the group takes part in the production demonstration, the other half will walk through the argan forest, before everyone gathers for a home-cooked lunch with the family, offering a genuine experience of Berber hospitality.

The morning will feature a cooking workshop at the El Khir association, located in a local neighbourhood about 20 to 30 minutes' walk from the medina, whose mission is to support women in difficult life situations. You will learn about Moroccan culinary art and share a moment of solidarity and sisterhood. Lunch will follow the workshop.

After lunch, you will walk back to the vehicle for a journey of approximately 3 hours to a luxury camp in Agafay, where you will arrive in the late afternoon.

The Agafay desert is an area of stone dunes located approximately 30 km south of Marrakech. Unlike the Sahara, it is not made of sand, but offers a striking moon-like landscape with views of the Atlas Mountains.

A free day in Marrakech to explore the medina at your own pace and visit the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square with its snake charmers, dancers, storytellers and fire-eaters.

There will also be time to discover the city's grand souks and beautiful gardens, a historic city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 7 – Free Day in Marrakech
